Pedro Afonso, Count of Barcelos

Pedro Afonso (before 1289 - May 1350), was a son of King Denis of Portugal and Grácia Frois. He was made the 3rd Count of Barcelos on May 1, 1314.

He was granted properties in Lisboa, Estremoz, Évora and other regions of Portugal by his father.

He married twice: first with Branca Peres de Sousa, the daughter of wealthy and powerful courtesans, Pedro Eanes de Portel and Constança Mendes de Souza. There was no formal issue. He remarried in 1322 to Maria Ximénez Cornel (buried at Monasterio de Santa María de Sigena), an Aragonese lady-in-waiting of the Queen Consort of Portugal, Isabella of Portugal, and the daughter of a powerful Aragonese nobleman, Pedro Cornel.

Pedro also had relations with Teresa Annes, a lady-in-waiting to the Queen Consort of Portugal Beatrice of Castile. He died at Lalim in 1350.
